ARB Bumper

I have decided that it is time to upgrade my bumper to an ARB or Shrockworks. I really like the design of the shrockworks but turned off by the wait time. I also have the opportunity to buy an ARB bumper for around $900. I have done a lot of searches on the forum as well as others about the two bumpers. Just looking to see if anyone out there has recently upgraded to an ARB and their thoughts and opinions on it.

If you can get an ARB for $793 that's a ****in steal! It costs about $650 installed from a body shop to replace the stock one. I don't know how ARB is making money at that price. I ordered a Shrockworks about 13 weeks ago and have about 2 1/2 weeks to go. It is something that not a whole lot of people have and is worth the wait. The shrockworks is lighter and, in my opinion, looks better. If you put the ARB on with a winch you will have to get heavier duty springs. just my $.02 though

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're adding a front bumper from ARB or Shockworks shouldn't the spings be replaced with something heavier regardless of who you get it from? Shockworks may be lighter but either bumper is going to put added stress on stock springs.

You don't NEED to, but it is highly recommended. It is definitely much more weight than the front springs were designed for.

Yes the springs should probably be replaced, but I am just going to wait a couple months for some extra $$$ to come in and then buy the Radflo suspension kit, don't want to have to replace the springs twice.

I Have ARB I Paid 1100 And Feel it was a Fair Price So Your Prices are Real good.
I Have warn 9000 Winch With CBI rear bumper and Use OME Heavy on both Ends.
The Bumper is great !!!
Looked At the Other brand But Was told 4 months ..Had ARB in 3 Days !!!

Great pic. I just had an accident (my fault) so I need a new bumper an that ARB is lookin SWEET!!! I will somehow work out the details with the body shop although I know I'll pay some out of pocket but the ARB bumper will be a great start to more upgrades!

i have an arb with warn 9000 also with icon coilovers up front and so far the bumper has been worth every penny. shrockworks had a 5 month wait and the arb is airbag certified

I'm not a fan of the ARB Bumper because it looks off on a 4th gen in my opinion. The plastic/rubber bumpers ends are kind of cool, but I don't like that there are no recovery points on the bumper like the ShrockWorks or Demello units. The plastic foglight surround also looks odd to me, again it looks good on other models but on a 4th gen the bumper doesn't flow as well as a Demello or Shrockworks IMHO.

Wow I can't believe I've never noticed... for some reason I always thought they had those T slots for chain but I just had to look to see that they aren't there.. Can't believe they'd do that... I guess they just expect you to use the winch all the time.

I've also always thought the plastic fog/turn thing on the ARBs looked more factory than the other options. I guess because OEMs use so much plastic and different pieces where the SW, CBI, DO, etc. bumpers are one piece.

The ARB is bulkier, but all the extra curves and lines make it look more like an OEM bumper IMO. It's much more complex than the other designs, which seems more like a factory thing than flat surfaces and hard angles.

I'd probably get a DO personally though.

Bump. Can people with the ARB bumper chime in on after affects on installation? MPG hit? wind noise? approach issues? etc?

I found a killer deal on one that I might pick up, but would like peoples comments besides the 'bulky' issue.

I'm very happy with my ARB bumper and OME lift. The thing I like is that the two are designed to work together. I had my ARB on for a few months before the lift (hit an elk so I pulled the trigger) You definitely notice it but no issues without the lift. Once I had the OME lift on the truck rode better than stock IMO and was a perfect match with the ARB.

Just my 2 cents but when i put my ARB a while back i was still on stock suspension but i bumped on the bump stops at every bump and that was with a winch on too. The wind noise has gone up a little but when you have bigger more aggressive tires, cb whip, and things on your roof rack and drive a big box its kind of expected. as far as mpgs the time i drove with out lift big tires it wasnt to big of a difference but once the tires lift went on i dropped in to the 13teens. The approach angles I'm not sure havent been off road yet but it is defiantly better than stock. in my opinion is dosnt look bulky and fits well yea it sticks out a bit more but is nice to stand on and hold tool when your working.
