The ARB single compressor install has been documented several times here but I haven’t been able to find much using PowerTrays, so here goes.
2020 ORP here. I chose to install the compressor on the drivers side of the engine bay. There are other options for location but I made the decision on location first and then started researching mounting options.
The big change over prior year 5th gens is the additional fuse/relay box behind the main fuse/relay box. Slee sells a relocation bracket but it’s not necessary. You can repurpose the existing bracket and relocate it. No cutting or drilling required. PowerTrays has those instructions on their website.
I also went with an AOB switch mounted in place of a blank in the dash. I’ll skip the details on wiring because you can search for at least several detailed write ups on that. Let’s skip to the pics.
Package arrived via USPS within two weeks, even though their website said it was sold out and would take 3-4 weeks. It was well packaged.
Supporting arm glued to the instructions along with installation hardware.

One of the deciding factors for me on PowerTrays was the clean and precise cuts and ability to relocate the quick coupler. The relocation kit is pictured here. Using this kit I can tuck away the wires, pressure switch, and tee connector for a cleaner final installation.
Note the relocated fuse/relays box in the back. It does make accessing the firewall wiring tricky but it’s easy enough to remove. I ran my switch wires through the firewall before bolting in the relocated fuse box and before bolting in the PowerTrays.
Definitely use the recommended 10 inch ratchet extension bar with a universal joint to make tightening the bolts easier. Space is tight back there!
There are two bolts that run through the fender here to attach the support arm. Just above and to the right of the suspension components. It helps to jack up the front driver side to get some extra room to work. I did not remove my wheel but that might give you a more comfortable working area.
I also picked up a Blue Seas bus bar to clean up my wiring. Eventually I plan to add the SwitchPros but today I am filling up my dash with AOB switches as needed. I still have one open switch position, then I’ll upgrade to SwitchPros and this tray allows me that flexibility as my build grows.
Overall I’m super pleased with the result and would buy PowerTrays again. Customer service and quality is A+!
