ARB Dual Compressor will not run

I just installed a new ARB dual compressor but the compressors will not run. They start and then shut off. The fan runs and all fuses seem to be good.

Anyone experience this issue?

start with the basics. if it starts and turns off, you probably have everything connected right. Check your grounds first, and then every wiring connection. If everything is tight, then it sounds like either your compressor is pressurized or you have a bad pressure sensor.

I am running it without a tank. Don't know if that makes any difference.

If you have a pressure switch and you're running without a tank and no outlet for the compressed air, the compressor would do exactly as you describe. It will start then immediately build up enough pressure to trigger the shutoff.

That sounds normal. Begin inflating tires and it will kick on again. I've small aluminum air tank that prevents it from shutting down immediately and also ARB twin runs cooler with reservoir tank.

Like others have stated, if you aren’t using it, it is totally normal behavior.

Ain’t that the truth! Releasing the coupler straight from or even close to the compressor after filling four tires is enough to burn you. I had a three foot pigtail to the front of the truck, before I added a 1gal tank and popping that coupler right after a fill required gloves.

I understand that the unit will cut off but it was not coming back on when i started airing up. I did check all connections and fuses. Once I checked the relays and put the unit back together it started working. May have been a poor connection.
