500amp battery isolator

I'm running a dual AGM battery setup with a Stinger 500amp battery isolator on the rear battery. Running the ARB twin compressor and some other goodies off the rear battery for now, maybe a fridge one day.

50w will not be enough, 100w or 150 even would be ideal :usa:

I think the 50W solar panel will be just barely enough to keep up with the fridge in direct sunlight so that means it really won't charge the battery at all. However, the truck will charge both during day trips.

If its just for the fridge, 50W is a good balance (At least for the ARB 50q)... That's about what the fridge uses, but the fridge isn't 100% duty cycle. Solar can and will catch up unless its sitting baking in 100+ heat.

The panel in my picture above is a 50w, with a 17ah battery. Im guessing ur playing with old APC or similar SLA.

That said, I have an excellent MPPT charge controller that's stupid efficient.

I have a 60w folding solar that I keep in the 4Runner all the time... its a lot more convenient that the hard panel even though its not as efficient.
