FAQ:

1. How do I pay? When the Group Buy is officially open you will pay the authorized ARB vendor. Not me. There will be a special section on their website for the GB discounts. You can purchase any other types of stuff at regular price for free shipping while you are there as well. I cannot release the vendor name at this time.
2. How do I install? Installation will not be discussed here or in the group buy. Expect $500-800 at a local shop to do the job depending on how much of the work you do yourself.
3. Can I get just gears, just compressor, or just locker by itself? Of course, I will PM you the quotes for whatever you want. Just supply me the model # you're looking for.
4. Can I order a complete differential? Not for this group buy.
5. What rear differential do I have in my FJ Cruiser or 4Runner?
   If you have a 2007-2009 FJ Cruiser or 2003-2009 4Runner, your differential is a 8" Standard Pinion Differential (Sometimes called a 8" V6/Turbo LPH, long pinion head) with a 29 Spline Pinion Gear.
   If you have a 2010-2014 FJ Cruiser or 2010+ 4Runner, your differential is what is called an 8.2" Differential. This was found on 2010+ FJ Cruisers, 2010+ 4Runners and Landcruiser Prado 150 Models.
6. What front differential do I have in my FJ Cruiser or 4Runner?
   If you have a 2007-2014 FJ Cruiser or a 2003+ 4Runner then you have a 8" Clamshell Differential.
   Manual Transmission FJ: The 3.91 Differential was known as the "Thin" Ring Gear and the differential carrier is specific to this model. There is very little aftermarket support for ring gears for this differential. If you have a manual transmission FJ Cruiser and want to change the differential ratio, a 3.73 Carrier is needed out of an automatic transmission'd FJ or an ARB Air Locker Part Number RD121 is needed. IF you want to keep the 3.91 Ratio, then you can use an ARB Air Locker Part number RD111- however if you want to change differential ratio in the future you would be stuck with a locker that does not work with any other ring and pinion. If you want to change your ring and pinion with an OEM Differential, you can search your local junkyards at car-part.com for a 2007+ Toyota FJ Cruiser with Automatic and get yourself a 3.73 carrier so that you can buy an aftermarket "Thick" ring and pinion.
   Automatic Transmission FJ: The 3.73 Differential was known as the "Thick" Ring Gear and this carrier has a lot of aftermarket support. The Ratio's currently available are 4.56 and 4.88.
7. What differential ratio do I have in my FJ Cruiser or 4Runner?
   Almost all 6 Speed Manual Transmission FJ Cruisers came with 3.91 differentials.
   Almost all Automatic Transmission FJ Cruisers and 4Runners came with 3.73 differentials.

I've been looking into locking up my 2011 SR5, so I would definitely be interested in a GB discount. I'm up in Canada, not sure if that will have any bearing on participating(other than higher shipping costs that is).

Will be posting on TacomaWorld and updating initial post this evening. Will be calling tomorrow morning and PM'ing those who've expressed interest the exact prices. ARB has a MAP (minimum advertised pricing) policy so it cannot be advertised in this thread; hence the < $1000 quote. Oh and Bump!

For those 5th gens not doing gears at the same time, make sure you carefully consider doing it. Makes a huge difference. I run 34s and the mpg hit is less than when I ran 33s. Just carefully consider! If your convinced you don't want to re gear, at least my conscience is clear!

I do not foresee an issue. I will inquire though.

I'm in same boat as you on year and you're right on the gearing. RD132. The 121 is for front only. Unless I'm wrong too... :spy:

Update!

Prices are coming in next 24 hours. I will PM those on the thread thus far. Feel free to state yourself as tentative if you're at least 75% committed. I won't add you to list but will keep you updated specifically.

Items will be individually priced and not "buy a locker and get a compressor" as I had initially thought (due to seeing other similar offers online).
For example: You can buy 5 lockers or just a compressor. You will purchase on the reseller's website in a special section once the GB is officially open. High output compressor and manifold *should be* available (Pending confirmation).

Shipping will be Free over $500. Canada will be surcharge but still available.

I'm about to ask something really stupid, so please have mercy.

My 4Lo no longer works, unfortunately my father (previous & only owner) never used it and it does not engage. The first time the knob was probably turned was by me 2 years ago when i first landed on the forums and found out we are supposed to engage it monthly.

Now, is it necessary to fix or will having a locker make up for not having the 4Lo feature on my 4runner (If it helps I have a 2006 V8 4WD Limited)? If so I may join this group buy.
