ARB OME or Ironman lift kit?

Title says it all pretty much. I looking at lift kits for my 2012. I had OME on my 3rd gen and it was good. The Ironman is pretty much the same setup and prices are very close. Which do you have and why? One better than the other?

Which OME kit are you talking about? There is the plain-jane nitro shock version and the BP-51 coiler overs. Same for the Ironman kit, there are several options to choose from that vary drastically in style and price.

I just put on the OME medium load springs with the Nitrocharger dampers, along with the OME UCAs, on my 2015 Trail. Rides great and came in at a good value. With the KDSS, it rides better than ever. Tires are 255/80 17 (33”) Wildpeaks. For the generally slow, moderate trails I’m mostly on, it’s a good setup.

if the rig is meant to be a multi-purpose offroader (as opposed to a rock crawling specialist), why not go with a Baja setup in our Baja terrain?

this. below are some monotube setups that will do great on the trails out here, for the price. know the limits of the shocks and they'll last a long time.

here's a budget kit Camburg Toyota 4-Runner 03-22 | FJ 07-14 FOX 2.0 Performance S/R Kit – Camburg Engineering

a step up would be this one

Bp51 is a fabulous system from a great company mine has tackled many situations and works great 3 years now from highway to high hills :drum:

Skyjacker is awesome on my 2010. Best price for 3" lift kit including UCA's and extended end links. Correct geometry is important to me and they got that on the money! That is until I fabricate a 3.5" long travel set up. They want like six grand for those.

I'm looking at the Nitro kits, the more budget ones. I had the OME on my 3rd gen it was good but was a little firm on bumpy roads and potholes.

I have the Ironman Nitro stage 2 kit with performance load since last July and so far I love it way more than stock suspension. It is more firm, but handles corners and hard stops better. Also when I pack down the vehicle for camping and hunting trips it doesn’t sag in the rear or feel overloaded.

How are the upper control arms? May be looking for some soon for a 2" lift I'm putting in and every time I look at the JBAs I can't get over how they look. These look much better, but the JBAs sure have everything else going for them. Is the Ball joint replaceable on the OME?

1988 called. It wants it suspension back.

Dobinsons.

X2

I was a huge OME fanboy, having run it on several rigs before, but once I grabbed our 5th gen and examined how we'd be using it, the Dobinson's kit was the kit that allowed me the most value for my $ spent (In my opinion).

1. Front springs (150-200lbs over) chosen for Winch/winch bumper up front
2. Rear springs (700lbs over) chosen for 3 kids and a crap-tonne of gear our back
3. Clearly KDSS-compliant or at least KDSS-friendly
4. Packaged up with UCA's and KDSS spacers - price was very reasonable.
5. Lift is fairly conservative @ 2.75-3" to keep the IFS healthy while articulated.
