Arb or standard brush guard??

After getting backed into several times at school, I am debating whether to the an ARB bumper or just a brush guard for the coverage? I know the ARB is very costly, so hopefully I could find a used one. But I will have to replace the coils and such when I do that. What do you all think? Any ideas out there?

If you have $1800 and 6 months to wait, I highly recommend Shrockworks. But go with an aftermarket bumper you'll be much happier in the end and if that gets hit hard it will do less damage to your car than a brush guard would.

From what I hear, a good bull bar, like Steel craft, will protect you're front end from little bumps, such as getting backed into. I had an Aries bull bar on my previous car ('05 RAV4) and it completely saved my bumper from a 15 mph collision. It took a dent and bent back a bit, but it's not as strong as a the Steel craft. While the aftermarket bumper would definitely be a better option than a bull bar or brush guard, it may not be necessary to spend the money on that and suspension unless you're going off road.

forget about the brush guard they cause more damage.i have a shrockworks hands down the best bomb proof bumper ever! i didnt have to change anything with the suspension. if you have the money and the TIME go with the shrockworks.arb are ugly imo .

I had a brushguard on my old Tacoma, they look tough and durable but they can't take that big of a hit. My wife was backing up and caught the corner of it on a pole and it bent it like a paper clip.... . If you need somethin rock solid, get the bumper replacement.

Sounds good guys! Thanks for the reviews, i'll hopefully purchase it this summer and post pictures when it arrives and gets installed.
