ARB rear locker or Toytec lift

I am at the next phase of my build and I am trying to decide what to do next. I have plate bumpers front and back, sliders, and full skids. ARB rear locker or a 2.5-3" lift are my choices unless you have a better ideas. This is my daily driver for now.

Having said all that I have only been out on level 2-3 trails a few times so maybe I should just wait and see what my current set up will do until I decide.

Lift it.
Ground clearance is useful in more situations than when a locker is.
But get the locker soon too. :)

A locker will you get you further down the trail.

A lift will make you hit all that armor less often. And maybe add some wheel travel (to the rear at least).

I'd say wheel it more (in a group in case you need a pull) and decide which will help more often. It sounds like a locker is probably overkill for what you are doing currently, but it could be useful in the future.

Then you don't need the lift, or a locker, or really anything else you've done to your truck, and you should waste your money on whatever makes you happy. None of the advice you will get in this thread is from anybody who is qualified to know what you will make you happy.

Lifts can be obtained easily if you just really need to lift it. Plus, you'll be looking at purchasing new tires too. I vote rear locker. It's a world of difference.

Locker and then you can piece together a lift kit reasonably if you watch the classifieds

I would have to agree, get the Locker as that will be the one that will help the most and probably take more money/time possibly... I put my lift kit together for under 1000 easy... went with the bilstein 5100s from 1st gen tundras ($400), then LC 8 wraps in the rear($80 if i remember right from Cruiser Outfitters need the front from a LC for your rear on the 4runner) and TRD 1st gen tundra springs in the front($200). The ARB rear Air locker will run you about $1100 before tax and before install depending on if you are going to install it yourself... So i would say spend the most money now and slowly buy the parts of your lift a little here and there til you have everything you need.
