ARB Twin Compressor mounted in the cargo cubby hole write up.

So here's a link to my ARB Twin Compressor write up for mounting the compressor in the rear cargo area.

This is an alternative to mounting your compressor inside the engine bay. I just tried to take a few pics along the way as well as tried to add a bit of what I referenced in making the choice to do a compressor mount in the cargo cubby hole area.

Awesome job! Looks fantastic and avoids the heat of the engine bay. This is the first time I've been on here for any amount of time this summer. I have a ton of catching up to do with everyone!

Thank you. Well I guess the way I look at it is everything's a bit of a trade-off. I second-guess myself a little bit every time I see someone's sub perfectly sitting in that cubby hole. And at the moment I don't have any sort of drawer system to hold all my detritus. So I have a fair amount of stuff just kind of chucked into the back. [MENTION=116467]Rock_Rat[/MENTION] had what I thought was a cool modular storage system solution. However, I recall him not really digging it in practice. I want to give a little bit of thought to what I want to do back there if anything at all.

Did you build a bracket to secure it to?

No. Not at this time. I used some large washers on the backside. The compressor itself has a bit of a frame that helps distribute weight. If I were to do it again. I would use a thin piece of metal and I would have covered both sides in a thin dense rubber. I will see how it looks, feels, and sounds for a while and make adjustments as necessary. The plastic it secures to is fairly stout though.
