Are awning on 4th gen - stock roof rack install hardware

I figured it out guys. The ARB awning did not come with any brackets. However, a quick visit to Home Depot and some $15 later, I had it mounted on the stock rack no problem. I will get around to trimming the top and painting the brackets, but that may wait till I take it down for the New England winter. thanks for your help,

Regarding a 2016 SR5 with factory roof rails and cross bars
Looking at this mounting, I'm guessing an 8 ft model probably would not work if centered on the roof cross bars because the tailgate could not be lifted very far or if mounted so the tailgate would lift all the way, the awning would extend about 2.5 - 3 ft beyond the support bracket on the front end and might not be stable at hwy speed or when deployed in a somewhat stiff wind.
Even as the 6 ft is mounted it might be good to use a couple of stainless hose clamps on each cross bar / bracket to help ease stress on the cross bars where drilled for the bolts. Say one between the 2 bolts next to the inboard bolt and one just outboard of the outboard bolt. And maybe such added fastening might make an 8 ft work.
Any thoughts on this ?????

The U-Bolt scheme to the fore/aft stock rail seems to be a good mount since you can put several along the rail rather than just the 2 on the cross bars. I think that would make an 8 ft feasible, even allowing mount such that the lift back would be clear

Im guessing they picked that stuff up from the local hardware store and pieced it together like that? Looks like that would work great. Ordered my awning yesterday so I'm looking for a way to mount it.

Thanks, would appreciate a picture of how you finally mount it.
I'm thinking of an 8 ft using maybe 4 or 5 u-bolt / angles like in the photo.
My use would be on the beach (Mar - Dec) and the 8 ft would cover both doors very well and provide better shade from low angled sun without having to use a side curtain, that could cut off any breeze.
Also there is now a u-bolt scheme on the below 5th gen thread that would work on a cross bar. Thus u-bolt mount on each cross bar and several u-bolt mounts along the fore/aft rail.

I did not mount it to the stock rack. I used these (drilled an extra hole in each one).

Sorry, been a week or so since I've been online. I ended up getting an 8 ft from AutoAnything.com since they were having a 20% off sale. I think it ended up being like $230, which was the best price I had seen on them! I have not got around to mounting it, so let me know if you guys have any ideas. The awning is A LOT heavier than I was expecting, so I want to make sure whatever I go with can withstand the weight and any bouncing around.

I would look at using the U-bolt scheme shown in this thread that goes on the fore/aft stock rail, combined with the U-bolt scheme that goes on each cross bar. I linked to it (cross bars) in an earlier post in this thread. That way you have both cross bars holding and can put several along thr fore/aft rail for added stability and weight bearing.
Will be interested in what you finally do for the mounting as I am seriously thinking of an 8 footer.
