Are heated mirrors plug-n-play?

Searched and found nada.

I have an 05 sr5 and it doesn't have heated mirrors. Not liking this.

Just wondering whether if I bought heated mirrors, is the truck already wired for them? Hoping for a pigtail I can plug into that would allow them to work with the defrost switch?

Thanks!

I seem to recall a thread a while back where somebody installed the heated mirrors. Indications were the necessary connectors were already in place.

The link above, was not to get heated mirrors, but rather to get the turn signals in the mirrors. Heated mirrors was a bonus.

If you removed the small triagular interior piece from one door, you should be able to see if a connector is tied down somewhere in there.

I added them to a 2008 SR5. I used existing plug for the mirror and they worked fine. I think as long as you have the electric mirrors in the 4th Gen, the wires are there to power the defroster circuits.

There are a lot of optional functions built into the wiring harness; just have to figure out which one's which.

Not to beat a dead horse but the factory mirrors on the sr5 are not heated? I ask because my right mirror is heated but the driver is not. I bought the truck used so it could have been replaced.

Heated mirrors might have been an option on the SR5 but both mine are black plastic and neither are heated. According to the manual, they have some sort of factory-installed "rain shedding" coating, which is crapooie if you ask me. Doesn't work.

I've never heard of just one being heated. I'd guess one is not working or one mirror was replaced.

Mine are the same (03 SR5 v8) and am looking at wrecking yards for the heated mirrors. The secret squirrel coating on my mirrors sucks too, but I guess that it wears with age.

CONFIRMED

You can change to heater mirrors on an SR5, plug them into the factory harness (where the Non-HEATED mirrors used to plug in) and they WORK.

joy.
