Well I am convinced. The fit seems to be better then any other aftermarket part that I have bought in the past. Slight gap NO PROBLEM
I'm in!!!
So who is going to start the GB????

daves4r since you email the seller and he email you back with the GB price and info. why don't you set up the GB?.I'm sure we have at least 10 people already...

No, this is only a cosmetic issue. I'm already working on a fix, you see, the lights are attached with long studs that are threaded at the base, a nut attaches on the other side of the body and it sucks the light down tight.

The problem is that when I put the passenger side light in, there is just a slightly too wide of a gap between the threaded studs on the lens when compared to the holes in the body that they fit into, so the lens fits fine until you hit the threaded part of the the stud, and then the edge of the hole that the stud goes through catches on the thread, therefore you can't tighten the light all the way.

What i'm going to do is take a round metal file and slightly enlarge the hole that the lights fit into. I will probably increase the diameter of the hole by 1 - 2 mm. Then the light should fit better.

I received my genuine OEM black tails yesterday and already have them on. Looks like the knock-offs are a pretty good match. I'm glad I went with the OEM Toyota Japan ones. I'm more concerned about fading and overall build quality down the line rather than the upfront price.
 
It's hard to tell from the pics, but does the black plastic on the inside have a glossy, or a matte finish to it? It looks like it's matte based on the pic, but it's tough to tell based on the lighting. The OEM ones have a rich, glossy plastic on the inside.

I would say it's a semi-gloss finish, which I like very much.
 
So is anyone going to start the GB? I would but I am a noobie and not very familiar with rules on this forum. Anyways, I already contacted the mod for instructions. Regardless, I will start an "interested" list: anyone can add there name to the list that way when the actual GB starts we don't have to wait so long

Here are my gunmetal lights

They are really starting to grow on me. At first I didn't like them because I thought they looked to chromey. I have had them on for 5 days now and I like them more and more every day.
