Are these the real deal? TRD Trail Teams

Good morning peeps! I've been watching eBay, looking for a good deal on 16" TRD Trail Team rims.

Yes, I can accommodate them on my 4th Gen since I have an SR5 (unless someone tells me otherwise).

Here's a good deal for $499 (4) plus $80 shipping. But, the pictures just don't seem great. The "black" doesn't look right. I know there are "replicas" as well, and I'm not opposed, however it's gotta be a well done paint or powder coat.

Can anyone tell anything from the link for this ad?! Thanks in advance...

It's very hard to tell with that crappy led/blue tint light they have on it but here's my opinion after reading: Under brand it is listed as aftermarket. Under the description it states this: Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Team TRD Style Wheels (Semi Matt Black). These are Aftermarket or Replacements Wheels Made To Factory Specs and Looks. Both of these give me the impression they are replicas because I would think they would call them TRD wheels instead of TRD "style" wheels and it says they are replacements made to factory specs and looks. The last one could mean they're the real deal replacement to to spec and maybe I'm just picky. But then under condition it says brand new and sealed in factory box. I would like to know if it is sealed in the toyota factory box or the seller "wheelgenius" factory box. Seems like a silly question but it's the little things that they screw you on. Just my .02 though.

I totally agree. And that's why I ask. You're seeing the same things I'm seeing. I'm ok with a replica, but the pictures do a crappy job selling their product. When you thumb thru the pics, the ones on the FJ look like the real deal. But, their stand alone pic doesn't seem to have the right hue of black. Thanks for your opinion. I see other sellers on ebay at about $700ish that look great.

Those would appear to be replicas. I would caution you on buying unproven, unknown manufacturer wheels. I wouldn't want the very thing connecting me to the road to fail.

Keep looking on craigslist and other forums. Some will pop up that have been wheeled and you can refinish them at a bargain. Good luck!

Those would appear to be replicas. I would caution you on buying unproven, unknown manufacturer wheels. I wouldn't want the very thing connecting me to the road to fail.

Keep looking on craigslist and other forums. Some will pop up that have been wheeled and you can refinish them at a bargain. Good luck!

Not OEM but reviews are good, only one negative. I don't know, that is a tough one. I would be interesting to hear someone experiences with replicas too.

Revived an old thread. I bought the replica's from the ebay vendor listed at the beginning of this thread 10/14. I have put them through the paces and have zero issues with them. If anyone is on the fence, pull the trigger.
