I can't possibly support a party that thinks making stricter gun laws will stop criminals from breaking the law (definition of non sequitur) :wtf: :biggrin2:

On somethings I tend to run more to the center but for the most part I am Conservative. Kinda funny the wife and I had this type of conversation just last night on which way we tend to vote. So How many of you listin to Rush on a daily basis and/or Hannity?

I'm a moderate and don't tow a party line just because a politician tells me to. Too much conservatism keeps this country from moving forward and too little creates it's own set of problems. Blind partisianship is not taking a smart approach.
Some republicans and democrats tow that line so hard they root for the opposition to fail even if it can help our country and only want their parties to succeed which really makes things difficult to proceed with much in this country. I see alot on the internet with Republicans rooting for Obama to fail no matter what which really seems silly since we all lose when the president fails no matter if he's republican or a dem.
I hope whatever party who has the majority control can move this country forward and if the Republicans have a better plan then I'm all open ears and mind but Bush really left a bad taste in my mouth for most of this decade.

Me, well, I really don't care what party as long as they do a good job. I take everything that politicians say with a gain of salt until I am confidant about them.

So far, I think he is doing a good job. Corzine left Jersey with a huge financial mess. In this situation, he has to make unpopular decisions but I think it will all work out in the future.
My brother actually met Christie twice (once at a Rutgers football game and once at a diner). The last time my bro met Christie, Christie spoke to me on the cell phone (I know it is all politics but it was still cool).

Pretty much, I think we're screwed unless we move away from the party system and get people in who are in it for the better of the communities they serve rather than the money they make and bonuses they get when they vote a certain way.
Just because we have had a two-party system historically since 1800 doesn't mean we need to keep it that way.

I agree 100%. The hard part is weedin out those who are messed up, proving it and learning from that.
I'm more anti liberal/leftist than anything else. That's as a longterm reaction to the Michael Bellesiles era of constant anti-second amendment lies and propaganda.
But to be honest, your poll should differentiate between fiscal, social, and national defense issues.
I'd call myself a libertarian neo-con. Not socially conservative (unless you consider guns a social issue), fiscally conservative, and I give the benefit of the doubt to the US military, not to Jihadi scum. reject, totally, the marxist application of victim/oppressor analysis to all issues, viewing all things through the prism of aggrieved races and genders.
Pro individual liberty, pro self-defense, pro offense-as-the-best-defense, anti kumbaya singing, victim-group pandering, america blaming first leftist useful idiot deferring in all things to elite bureaucrat's nanny statist social experimentation and empire building and budget-sqandering at the end of the fiscal year.

Got it. :biggrin2: Most people don't make such distinctions though and I can see why. It takes quite a bit of effort for most people to make such a distinction and effort is not what people are looking for in politics. It's easier to tow a party line when there are only 2 which is most likely why the 2 party system has been in effect for as long as it has. Personally I like the Libertarian party the best since it is the most closely aligned to my own beliefs. But ask somebody about the LIbertarian party and see what response you get:

The laws of the individual states have been written ( by the two parties ) to keep 3rd parties out.
They take it a step further on the gerrymandering to keep themselves in power.
