Ha @CXS I really didn't think it was going to take people that LONG to mock me. But really it's for the Barret Jackson auction in Scottsdale. Wife surprised me for my birthday so we are going down there in January.
Thought about getting this as a rental, but it seems pretty steep for some ghetto wheels and he is adamant about NO OFFROADING in it...

We ran across signs for BJ a number of years ago when we were there and decided to check it out. Turned out we were a day early so I drove through the exhibitor gate, waved at security and spent a couple hours looking around. Just us, security staff and exhibitors made for a good time. I guess my old Land Cruiser looked like it belonged.
Sounds good, we don't have a date yet but will let you know when we do. Our primary visit is to my sister-in-law but I can't just visit without hitting some trails too. Probably spend some time visiting old puebloan spots as well.

Sycamore Creek is a lot of fun, cool area to run around in. Sedona is great too, Broken Arrow is heavy traffic with those Pink Jeep tours, but you can't get lost, follow the tracks. There's a great trail from Lake pleasant to Crown King Backway to Crown King - Arizona | AllTrails.com

i suggest 4peaks, not too far from sycamore. it's a decent ride to the top and great scenery

Super glad I saw this thread. I'm heading out to AZ next week for a 4 day trip. We are going to try and get a walk up camping spot in Sedona on Wednesday.

you better get there super early, the first come walk up spots fill quick even during the week. Very beautiful spots though.
Well nothing beats seeing one of the 7 wonders of the world, although theres no wheeling near the grand canyon that im familiar with. If your staying in mesa and going to flag, then I would suggest doing some wheelin in mesa like I suggested and then definitely hitting up the trails in Sedona. People come from all over the world to see Sedona. Its on the way to flagstaff. If you got time for all that, that's what I would do. If you only got one day to get some wheeling in than you will want to go with Sedona.

While I understand the whole 7th wonder thing I have been to Canyonlands and I feel like its about on par. I mean at that point its a giant gaping crevice in the earth and at least in canyonlands you can drive around in. But thanks for the heads up we will be down there from wed-sunday so should give us plenty of time to explore. Unfortunately we will be renting a car as we will be driving down there, but wondering about possibly jeep rentals and such if those are the thing. I have seen the pink jeep tours, but wondering about anything else we could possibly do on our own. Or ridealong with a member haha :bigok:
Best way to see the Grand Canyon is to see it from the North Rim, but that's WAY out of the way. They also close the road for the winter... not sure if they've done that yet. The north rim (Kaibab Plateau) is pretty high in elevation.
Sedona is awesome. Trails to seek out are Schnebly Hill (easy, very scenic), Greasy Spoon (more interesting) and Broken Arrow (potential for bumper scrapeage). Great good as well. Be sure to hit up Elote Cafe. Get there early. NO reservations and people line up.
