Anyone have an interesting, creative, useful idea for replacing my 2005’s front ashtray? I don’t smoke so the ‘smokers kit’ isn’t of interest. I have plenty of usb options by the DAC button. I don’t use coins any longer. The lid is broken and the space just collects nastiness. I have googled and haven’t found zip. Even a delete, at this point, seems preferable. Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing. I've got a 3d printer and have been looking for small projects to get more practice with CAD. Of course, finding time is always a challenge.
What about a small switch panel? I'm thinking something that could hold 2 or 3 of those round 12v toggle switches (search for "12v toggle switch" on ebay/ali/amazon/etc). You could probably make one out of plywood or sheet metal if you don't have a 3d printer.

I’m thinking about maybe some sort of slot to drop my phone into? Really considering getting a 3D printer and starting to work on some stuff. If you’ve got a wireless CarPlay head unit, something with wireless charging where you can drop it in and it charges while being connected would be money.
I've got wireless Android Auto, so a wireless charger might be nice. I just wish the space was wide enough that the phone could be facing the driver. The cup holder would be a better location, but I actually use my cup holders. Still, it's not like I'm using the ash tray for anything else right now.
