Asian writting translation

Im not sure if this is Japanese or what but I got this gun case when I was in the Marines and pretty sure it's from WW2. Anyone know what it says?

okay two parts.
the part on the right means: machine gun cover
the part on the left mean: station 99, platoon 20, group 1 patrol team. then the last part mean type 2, 2 step. which i think is the kind of machine gun they use.
