Assist with Body mount chop in Denver

Got my lift and tires all done, now I've been working on all my rubbing and clearencing for the 285/70/17 duratracs even though I have 3+" lift and alignment done.

I chopped the body mounts and am looking for someone locally in Denver area who has access to a welder and basic metal fab skills to help me burn in some plates to provide support to the newly chopped body mounts. I'm willing to cover food, beverage, or pay $ if that's nesseccary.

I'm still a little confused/frustrated by all this rubbing! After ready many reviews I was under the impression that moving the liners forward and a slight trim the the lower lip of the front bumper is all that was needed and sometimes a body mount chop.

I've done all that, and cut portions of the rear of the wheel well and smashed the pinch welds and I'm still getting rubbing noises.

FYI caster is at 3.0 driver side and 3.4 passenger side. Would a little more caster help any?

Post some pictures with the wheels cranked, or have someone turn the wheel while you watch from outside. Are you still on the OEM upper control arms?

Where are you rubbing? I have about the same setup and rub on the sway bar and back of the wheel wells. It only happens when stuffed but the sway bar is a constant when at full turn.

Agreed, good people there but don't expect to drive up thinking they'll stop what they're doing to help you. Give Scotty a call and make an appt.

I know some people that could help but you'd need to be more specific about where you rub. I'm in Aurora so pretty close to you but I don't have the tools or garage any more. You really don't want to pay someone to try this, try that, it can get expensive.

I know exactly where it was rubbing and this strategy is how I alleviated all the spots, by cutting, trimming, etc little by little until it was no more.

So after pushing the liners forward and trimming a small section of the bumper on only rubbed on the rear of the wheel well. Specifically the body mount, and the rear lower edge of the plastic liner. The area the covers the pinch welds. I cut the body mount, folded over the pinch weld and by doing that was able to screw in the liner a little more and now it no longer rubs.

Now I just need to fill in the body mounts to provide more structural support from where it was cut. I have icon uca and shouldn't have any problem getting 4* of caster. That may have slightly helped sense my current alignment is at 3.0* and 3.4*. But my alignment guy said the slight amount to 4* wouldn't even be noticeable but I'm starting to think otherwise.

I never rubbed the sway bar but I do have the drop brackets installed and aftermarket wheels that push the tires out. Is t swaybar rub usually from rims that are tight inside the wheel wells like stock rims with meaty tires?

I pretty sure the rubbing is gone but I haven't completely flexed it out either. Just doing some city crawling and driveway flexing to find the problem areas. But like I said I think it's all gone now. Just need to find a welder
