Not super new to the forum, I owned a 2008 4runner about a year or so ago. I got rid of it since my work provided me with a vehicle.

Long story short, we missed it, but this time we didn’t want new. I had my heart set on a 3rd GEN Sport. I came across a '00 5 Speed Sport (181K) in December of 2013 after looking for 3-4 months. I had it looked over at my local Toyota dealership. With me working parts at a VW dealership, my next door neighbor is our Toyota dealership.

RUST....RUST...RUST and several holes. Time to start the search over again…

The place that had the '00 frequents Texas to buy diesel Trucks. He told me about a '98 his friend found out there. This 4runner came from Texas for 3 years and California before that, so as you can imagine no rust! This one only had 127K.

She did have some issues, which I got taken care of when it got delivered to me. Rear passenger axle seal was blown. Bad stereo install, someone hacked the factory harness to install a subwoofer. They had blown the radio (yes bigger fuse in the radio!) and the main fuse for the accessories. She was dirty, I think I could have created a small dog from all the dog hair in it, luckily it didn’t smell of dog, not like that matters with my two fur balls.

these are before i took delivery...

These are the items I replaced and or fixed before I started driving it:
- Driver and Passenger Visor (Original was duct tape) – New used ones included vanity light (extra love from my wife that night)
- Cup holder mod
- Used front headrest
- Alpine Radio
- Antenna
- Timing Belt w/ WP and Tensioners
- Plugs / Wire
- Drive Belts
- Serviced all Fluids including differentials
- WeatherTech Floor Liners

Every part that came loose on the inside was taken out of the truck and cleaned.

So now onto the fun!

January 2014

- Satoshi Mod
- Retro HIDs

February 2014

- 2015 FJ Wheels ( also new 4runner TT )
- 265/70/17 Goodyear DuraTrac
- OME F – 881 R – 891 with spacer’s up front. With Bilstien 4600, the shocks were on the vehicle when I purchased it. Replaced all bushing as we did the lift.

As she sits now…
