NEED HELP QUICKLY!!! by sat!!!

i am currently in the process of getting a borla exhaust from one of the members on this board.

the 2 vehicles
2003 v8 w/borla
2004 v8 w/xreas stk/exhaust.

from what i read, I am thinking the exhaust will transfer fine. the posts say the left hanger has to be moved. for the borla to fit on my 04/xreas/v8. Since no modification is necessary for the right side OEM side. So, technically fit his 03/v8 and his borla will fit my 04/V8/xreas with modification to the left hanger.

my second Q's is that are the flanges and length the same on 03/v8 and 04/v8.

I hope this works, It sounds like I have to drive over there and trade him and go home with a ghetto rigged left hanger. He will on the other hand will be perfectly fine. I'm cool with that.

I had a 04 Limited with Air, and Xreas. The Borla exhaust bolted right up without me having to do anything.

I just got my 06 Sport two days ago with Borla exhuast installed @ the port. I did get under neat of the truck for a quick inspection. The Borla exhaust appeared to be a direct bolt-on. There's no obvious cutting or welding whatsoever. The ID CODE on the sticker is DE1, and it's $779. I did call a friend @ local Toyota dealer, and their price is $970. However, wholesale price is only $679.50. You too can get it @ this price if you know how. The part guy did confirm that Borla exhaust will fit on either 05 or 06 with X-REAS, and spare wheel with out any problem. Hope this help.

I would like pics of the dual exhaust with Xreas...I have the TRD dual exh. and I dont see how the spare tire will fit..even with modification...there is simply NOT enough room with the spare tire in to fit the exhaust pipe between the tire and the frame

thanks, but I was kind of meaning an "under the back" shot...

like I said...my spare fits right up on the frame (going from left to right)...and the driver's side exhaust pipe goes along the frame as well...so no room for both

Does your driver's side exhaust hang lower? like under the tire/frame?

You can see the exhaust is IN FRONT of the spare tire, hanging about half way lower then the tire.

so it hangs lower than the tire, not between the tire and the frame correct?

I'm wondering if I could fit a spare TRD 20 with tire under there

hehe i already have the exhaust on (and do love it)...but i just dont have a spare tire right now

Hey, why not just try to put the spare back on? That should tell you if it fits!!! :awais:

ok...the spare tire WILL NOT FIT! The tire hits the exhaust running over to the driver's side way before it is in place. There is no way that spare is fitting with that driver's side pipe in the way.

The spare wants to fit all the way up next to the frame behind the driver's side exaust runner...it will not fit above the pipe, the tire is too wide.

I've done lots of mods between the Supras and 4Runners I've had so I like to think I'm no dummy...am I just missing something obvious?

I've seen other 4Runners with the trailer hitch mounted higher (in the square cutout on the bumper)...mine seems to be a few inches lower than the silver bumper square cut out...think this might have something to do with the amount of space under there?

I have the TRD setup for years

You have to put the tire in over the pipe first and then crank it up into place and it will fit right in....Its a little more difficult than stock, but well worth it.
