I am going to take out the factory radio... the cd player does not work anyway.I ordered a Sony MEX-N5000BT for a replacement radio.Crutchfield had the right price,they also gave me the new dash piece for nothing, saving me 30 buck and free shipping. Now the plan is to install a Uniden Bearct cb radio right under the radio.the factory radio looks like a 2din and i want to stack two single din units on top of each other. anybody know if this will work....seems logical

IF the opening is indeed 2 - DIN they should fit.
You could always get the heights specs for each and measure your opening.
FWIW my 84 has a 2 - DIN opening and I have a CD player and CB installed.

thats kinda what i figured.They should fit in ,besides if they dont i got big rocks for adjustment purposes. Trying to configure a ham radio connection for my mobile radio. still working it out . Would like to have it to the right side of radio cb stack.They make a battery eliminater with a 12 volt aux. plug....maybee some kinda bracket for that

well I finally have the install is mostly finished .I just have to solder a wire to the pa system,and mount the external speaker for the cb radio:clap2::clap2:

so the radio and cb are in and i am not sure i like the silver on the dash. I am going to take out the silver dash covers and make them black with rustoleum flexi dip black.... Ill post pics of results.Ive never used this stuff. but a buddy of mine sprayed a yaggie antenna he made. said its nifty stuff.well see

Ok so here is the shroud for the radio and both left and right lower covers painted with black flexi dipp. This stuff looks amazing ,flat black and not a run or a drip. If I didn't know any better I would say it was the factory finish. Next step ,I think the glove box is next.Maybe everything . Just thinking big. The color matches very well with upper dash.

I did run a pa speaker under the hood. I have an app. on my phone that lets me project the sound of gun fire from under the hood... hahahahahahaaaa its a lot of fun.:ak472:
