A new HU shouldn't harm the stock speakers. Most HUs only put out 50w X 4. No big deal there.

well i already got my Pioneer Premier 7700MP and it looks sweet!! The thing is now getting this bad boy installed? I have been doing lots of research on these forums and ouside of them as well. I was trying to look for any people who have done their own installations on a 99 4Runner LTD but came up short. I saw a lot fo '03 4Runner installations but I dont think it would be the same on a '99 seeing to it that the whole layout changed by '01. So would you guys suggest I get a shop to install it for me? And what would be the estimated price for an install? Thanks.

Head on over to www.yotatech.com and look in the tech writeups. I am pretty sure there are instructions on how to install in a 3rd gen runner. You should be able to do it yourself, they arent that hard to install as long as you have the wiring harness. If you were to go to a shop i would guess it would be $35-50 labor.

It's a very easy install, do it yourself and save the money. Basically, all you need is a screw driver and a wiring harness to do it.

That is (in my opinion) a great head unit for the $$. I just put one in my friend's Honda. I think it was around $195 for the unit and I did not charge for the install.

Installing a head-unit is actually pretty simple. Follow the instructions and yotatech and you should have no problems.

If I remember right, you just need to remove a few screws around the dash trim and it pops right off. After that, remove the bolts holding the exisiting unit in place and remove the wiring clips in the back. Make sure you have a wiring harness, as this makes installation a breeze.
