Audio Upgrade?

Im in the market on switching out the stock speakers. Crutchfield states to you 5-1/4 speakers in the rear, size is 6-1/2 and they say it will have issues if I go with the original size. Anyone have 6-1/2 speakers that work well for the rear doors and tailgate

I went with a full OEM Audio+ system. From what I remember, there was a decent amount of room in the hatch. Honestly I don't feel that hatch speakers do anything.

Ill look into the depth of them then.

It might be because they work with the rear speakers, hows the OEM Audio system? Do you have the sub?

No depth issues with my MB Quarts 6.5". I replaced my rear doors and tailgate with them, and even used Tacotunes mounting brackets which add an inch or so. Zero fitment issues. The front doors are 6x9's.

It's the full system with one sub and dedicated sub amp. Sounds pretty damn good for plug and play. It's always a pleasure to play some tunes. More bass would be nice at times but I purchased before the 2nd sub was available and OEM Audio has been working on an upgrade path for current owners for the past year.

I wonder why they say that then, Ill probably just buy the ones I'm looking at then.

I was considering this a while back when I had my Tacoma, and also considered them when it was on sale during black friday. Are you able to change the sub in the sub boxs to get more bass?

It could be a depth issue, with the widows. Worst case mod the factory mounts. I will let you know if i ever get mine from the brown van man. I think its just lazy on their part and not updating the catalog.

I'm sure you could swap but you're limited by depth and the amp. I have the stand alone amp option so it has more power.

The sub enclosure is built and tuned for the sub they use, I'm sure you could swap a different on in there but for what they're charging I've never seen anyone do it

+1 on the OEM+ setup.

I'd definitely recommend the OEM+ setup for the 4Runner. Those guys were awesome and VERY helpful. I just installed it in my 2017 TRDOR and I couldn't be happier. Excellent sounding system, clean, crisp and looks OEM.

I wonder what they charge for just the box, it would be nice if someone sold just that. I really like how clean it looks compared to others ive seen.

6.5” Focal in hatch and doors. Direct swap no spacerss etc.

Which Focals do you have? I was considering them how do they sound, you running with an amp or without?

I was considering Kickers since thats what I had on my Tacoma, but Im still on the fence.

The $2000 is what I am more concerned about.
