Audio Upgrade?

Hahaha, you can also say it was for toilet paper....

Ahhhh, so that is where all the toilet paper is going, people are using it for sound deadening inside their rigs for better sound quality. I guess if you are going overlanding and you run out of toilet paper, you can just take the door panels off and grab some.

I wonder what they charge for just the box, it would be nice if someone sold just that. I really like how clean it looks compared to others ive seen.

Which Focals do you have? I was considering them how do they sound, you running with an amp or without?

I was considering Kickers since thats what I had on my Tacoma, but Im still on the fence.

IC165 TOY in rear doors and hatch
IS690 TOY for front doors and tweets

I ran them for a while with no amp and they sounded much much better than stock. I set it up in stages. Now with a 700 watt JL Audio amp and Audison Bit 10 processor. It sounds amazing. And Loud AF. Couldnt be happier. FWIW I have had a chance to listen to an OEM Audio system in a 4runner. I was unimpressed. I thought it sounded muddy and lacked headroom.

I might go with focals based off this and a couple threads i read. Did you ever look into an amp that firs under the seat?

The amp is under drivers seat. Processor under passenger seat. I tried to use a taco tunes amp bracket but it was too tall. I ended up putting 1/2” plywood under carpet and screwing through mounts and carpet into the wood to secure them. Looks cleaner than the bracket did. I have a HAM radio under the back seat. I used heavy duty velcro and stuck the bracket to the carpet.

I have a sub channel on the amp but never added it. The audio shop that tuned the audison looked everywhere and even called me to find the sub. The focals really pound out that much mid bass.

Oh, I thought it was a bigger one, which model is it? I would like to get an and was looking at an infinity. But not sure which one would fit due to the space. Are yours seats electronic?

I might go with the non Toyota specific ones. Hopefully they sound as good as those.
