August 2011 Meet

I don't quite get it...are you suggesting that evil doers may not want to join us on our trip? Is that a bad thing? Care to elaborate?

I probably should have just sent Donny a PM. Anyways I think any trip is a great idea. I am already going to Julian on that weekend so I can't go.

I don't ever drink on the trail and once I almost got in a fight with a friend of friend because he wanted to smoke up while 4x4n (he was the driver and an idiot).

Aug 6 trip photos

The Aug 6 trip to Carveacre Trail and Bronco's Peak had a very small turnout.
TR4.org was represented by TraumaHawk. A few friends of friends joined up at McDonalds and the four of us headed to the staging area of Carveacre Trail. At the end of Carveacre Trail we played around in the rockgarden and then headed to the top of Pancake Rock. Pancake Rock is a really cool lookout place. Soon we headed back down Carveacre Trail to the staging area. The time got away and it was 2:30 pm. The three friends of friends left and it was evident I was on my own for the rest of the day. At this point I cancelled the Bronco's Peak trail and ran Gunslinger and it's new offshoot instead. Since I was by myself I did not really take any photos but, I had a great time. The trail offshoot is an easy to moderate trail.

Going to miss Saturday's run, taking the family to Hawaii. Hunting season opens in September doves and deer archery so September is going to be tough but if the stars align would be fun if a run in September is set up.

Where is Bee's Canyon? May go hit it mid-week.

It starts on the eastern edge of the San Jacinto/Hemet area and goes up into the San Jacinto Mountains. The way we went with Pikeman last time dropped us close to Idylwild with the whole afternoon to spend in town.

I was also going to say if people think they are wheeling with the Po Po then maybe we wont have people drinking on the trail. After all this is supposed to be a fun family friendly event. People that are worried about having an off duty officer along might consider why they would need to worry. Also need to consider if they have things to worry about what they are doing to positively promote our sport. We( off roaders) have a bad rap for not staying on trails, drinking and driving(yes still illegal when on the trails) littering(as evidence by the trash bag of stuff I pick up each trip) and general rowdy behavior. I have only met a couple people that I have concerns with but all have behaved on group trips so far and I hope we can keep this going with RESPONSIBLE actions.

Also, I just threw out Bee's Canyon because I'm familiar with it. Mike, if you have another easy trail up your sleeve I'm open to suggestions.

We can meet the same place as last time at the Chevron, Stater Bros, Taco Bell parking lot and decide from there. Most of the trails in that area are easy. I am planning on grabbing one of the Yellow post sites along the route to camp that night.

Kit- I will try to find the address from last time we ran Bees Canyon for the meet location and post here in a few.

Edit for where we met last time
The Taco Bell Address is 43466 State HWY 74 or Florida Ave. Hemet.

Jason hopefully this works since you were the one organizing it this time. Also I did not see a time to meet. Is 830 good?

Uh oh

Well guys, I just checked the weather, looks like rain and thunderstorms going up. Could be a problem. I'll check again in the morning.

only a 20% chance of rain...

Well guys, I just checked the weather, looks like rain and thunderstorms going up. Could be a problem. I'll check again in the morning.

Just checked the Weather Report for Hemet.. "Sunshine and clouds mixed. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible. High 104F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph." We should be good.

Well, the trail run went well. Thank god we got some time to play in the stream before it started pouring. While my family and I were eating inside a resturaunt in Idyllwild, it started pouring 1/2 inch hailstones! I'll post a picture when I get a chance. Lots of thunder/lightning up there today as well.

Well, I ended up hanging out camping Friday Night and yes even with the Thunder Storms camped again Saturday Night. Did a little hiking in the rain and some Bouldering when it cleared up. On our Hike we saw a lightning strike followed by a growing cloud of white smoke. Ran down the peak and called in the coordinates so the Forest Service could verify and send fire if needed. I really didnt get any footage of the drive itself but will post some from the camping.

Was good to meet Jason again and wheel with Donny, Andrea, and Kit(even if he didnt officially sign the roster..LOL) Great relaxing day in the Forest.

Sorry I missed out...Changing blown Cvs and an Alignment.. Not the most relaxing Sat. But glad its done...Now where are the pics?

sorry couldn't make the august run with u guys but next month looks good plus convinced my buddy to pick up a 4x4 so he is very excited to wheel and meet u all :)

What a trip!

Sorry I didn't respond right after the ride. I have been busy. I had a blast with everyone. I really enjoy easy/moderate trails that the family can come out with.. I took some great video, and a couple of pictures. I will post the pics once I get them uploaded. I finally got a chance to check out Pikemans rig. Nice setup. :thumb3:

Thanks for having me out again guys! Can't wait for next months meet.. Lets get a date going early so others can take it off in time.. :thanks:
