Hi All,

I just purchased a 92 4runner for $600. Motor needs rebuilding, which i can do myself. Ive always tinkered with cars and this will be my first rebuild of a bottom end. So I apologise in advance for the newbie questions.

I plan on going to perth in febuary next year its roughly 9,000km round trip so need to have the rebuild finished by then. im scouring this forum but if anyone has any links or tips for the rebuild that would be great.

You're Aussie? Don't Australians go for bigger better options when it comes to motors? Don't rebuild that 3.Slow or whatever you got under the hood, do a 1UZ V8 or a 5VZ out of a Hilux. Cheers

Haha yeah Aussies normally go bigger but I'm half islander born in Australia so I'm not compensating for anything
I just want something stock and reliable. I believe Toyota spend lots of money building and researching there cars best not to mess with it too much. I've done a conversion before and couldn't be bothered with the little fiddly bit that come with doing it.
