Recently bought my first 4x4 being a '94 4runner SR5 limited v6, all stock except new custom exhaust as previous one rusted and virtually fell off the car. Planning to install a 3.4L hilux engine as current 3.0 is pretty underpowered and just hit 369k. Also planning on installing a 130L arb long range fuel tank and relocating the spare onto the new arb roof rack cage I'm planning on getting.
Living in Sydney at the moment but am moving to cairns in march. Looking forward to doing the cape York trek!
Haven't done much apart for regular servicing(oil, filters, belts, lights), new speakers in front and back and interior light.
Just about to get some new suspension so looking at lifting her 2"(because it sounds a lot easiler than 4") then will be looking at new tyres something big and fat!
I'm no mechanic but I'm learning as I go
I love my truck but I have a project list
Air con
Snorkel
Tinting
Stereo underseat sub/amp and 4channel amp
Tune(possible reco) eng
After market turbo
New roof rack(seen nice design with 2 rails the length of the 4b allowing racks to be adjusted or extra added
I'm sure there's more but all I can think of atm
G'day, dropping in from Lonsdale, Adelaide, South Australia.
Stuck in the city but heading back to my Outback home, cheers:cheers: :reddance::reddance::cheers:
Just bought a 92 4 runner RN130 22r motor. Looking forward to using this new toy. Bit unsure about fuel consumption tho. Seems to be thirsty. Is that normal?
one more proud owner here. just bought mine in march from a dealer in sydney with 304k. running good, only a broken injection seal was bad/expensive to fix suddenly...
anyway, I'm in Darwin now. looking forward to do some more maintenance, and running to east coast around may.
btw, what Oil you use? seems like my one does'nt like the 15W-40 from last oil change much. my pressure goes always in low section... as per owners manual (have only US-Version in pdf) should be 10W-30, he? but ya, Repco and everybody else keeps telling me 15W-40 is fine...
Another Aussie here. I live in Grafton (northern NSW) and have a 1990 sr5 with everything standard except the 31" cooper sst's, I have a surf alloy bar with spotties and am looking at giving her a 2" lift, new lick of paint (she is white now and going to respray the white and do gunmetal grey from the top of the indicators down) and just some other stuff that the previous owner was too lazy to fix so he took to it wil an angle grinder before I get her on the road.
