I'm not much of a murder either. I am going to try to stick to trails that are usually dry aka the fence line and maybe royal gorge. It's a water trail but only water and rock. Not any mud really. I try to avoid mud like the plague if at all possible.

My truck is still stock since we just bought a house, but I want to get out since I won't be able to hit the mountains in Colorado until next year.

It's fun....

Everything from dirt roads that a Prius could navigate to trails that are extremely difficult with guaranteed body damage for a 5th gen.

It's mostly rocks, creeks, and steep climbs. The creek sections are lots of fun, but they might be a bit too much for a stock 5th gen.

Finding easy (yet still fun) routes has become much more difficult in the past 9 months. With all the rain... after such a long drought, huge ruts and holes have developed. Jeeps got out there and just dug out many of the ledges when it was wet, so now there are climbs with tricky wheelbase challenges where your front and rear wheels are both trying to overcome ledges/holes.

You can still find plenty of easy routes.. but they are becoming hard to piece together and it is constantly changing. Do not trust the trail ratings.. They are very misleading.

You should still go, It is beautiful out there.

Stop at bluebonnet cafe in MF for a good old fashion Texas hill country breakfast. Amazing food (be prepared for a long line though)

If you stick to the park roads you will be fine. Just run up to the tower to get your feet wet. No real challenges there. Most of the park roads are super easy.

If you want to challenge yourself and hit a few trails... you just have to go with people who know their way around. I've been on pretty much every trail out there (probably only one or two I have not done). I used to do most in my 5th gen, but now many are just too much for it and I do them in my trail rig with relative ease. I say relative.. because there is simply some crazy stuff that almost nothing can get through.

I may go Sunday, but wanted to get out and get some exercise after being cooped up for that past 10 days....

Just be prepared to scrape on a few things if you hit the trails. It's almost impossible not to at stock height.

We may still go this weekend. This is the first weekend we don't have plans in the past 4 months.

My plates already have plenty of scrapes from exploring the mountains in Colorado and dealing with the debris from floods here in the Texas Hill Country the past two years. What I really want to avoid is damaging my drive line or my fuel tank. Basically anything that is going to keep me from driving back to Boerne that day or to Colorado in 3 weeks is not an option in our budget right now. I enjoy just getting out and exploring. I don't have anything to prove, but I love seeing other people do stuff that I won't.

Sunday as far as I am aware. I work Saturday but am off Friday and Sunday. I don't mind going out tomorrow if someone actually plans on going but I am not going by myself. I have other things I can do lol

There are trails you can do definitely. No one will push you into something out of your comfort zone. I would remove your step rails beforehand. You can put them on when you're done but your front bumper may get some kisses. Hog alley may be ok. Rocky will be fine but there's one ledge like 9" high you may need to get creative on. You can come out to stretch its legs and if things go out of your comfort zone you may ride with me or I am sure others will let you too. We're going with some stock rigs so we won't be doing anything too serious. I try to be cautious of damaging DD vehicles

Being totally honest with you here... just so there are no surprises.
You will be fine on the park roads, other than that....

Be prepared to remove the steps or dent them up... Also the 20" rims will probably get some scrapes. Even being super careful it is hard to avoid light rim strikes (and the low profile tires make it that much more probable), nothing that will damage them... but expect the possibility of blemishes....

I'll be in my stock TE if you wanna hang. Like PWD4R said we won't do anything someone does not feel comfortable with. Something I have not asked is how is the gun range? Worth it?

I got the green light.

As of right now, my wife and I are planning to be out there Sunday morning. If there is a group meeting, let me know what time. We will be in a mostly stock 4R Trail Premium (no-KDSS) that is my only vehicle. We have to take it to Colorado next month. So, I have an aversion to driveline damage.

I will be ripping out parts of my interior tomorrow (Saturday) morning to add my dark room lights and measure for my cargo solutions. The only reason I would not make it on Sunday is if I can't get her back together in time. It's a battle, but I am pretty confident I will win(ish)...
