auto climate control question

I have the automatic climate control system with dual controls.
When I first hit the auto button, the a/c button also lights. Then I have to push the a/c button again to turn it off.
Each time I push the auto button, the a/c also lights. is this normal? My dealer says it is.

What temp. are you trying to get?
If low temp. it should be on.
If high temp. I think it is on a/c because it wont FOG the windows.

Yes, that is how it ios supposed to work. Think about it in the reverse order-- In the summer you would have to push the a/c button on evry time if they did it differently.

If you leave the system in AUTO (i.e., don't turn it OFF) whenever you shut off the truck, you won't have to keep turning the A/C off.

Leaving it in AUTO during the winter won't hurt anything, as nothing runs until the engine temperature comes up...

That is not the case. The a/c compressor will come on. It depends on the relative temp and what the car's setting is on.
