Auto-Dimmer wire

A while back, I installed my Pioneer Premier HU, and it came with a wire that auto-dimmed the backlight when I turned on my car lights. Anyone know where to tap that wire into the existing wires? I'd love to have that function, cause the light is blindingly bright at night :cry2:

Do you mean you want it to dim with the rest of the dash lights using the dimmer on the dash?

Not necessarily. I was reading the manual for the HU and it said if this wire is correctly hooked up, the backlight of the display will dim when the car's headlamps are turned on. Didn't say if it was variable dimming like with the rheostat.

Ok it looks like you could hook it to either of the two red wires or pin 3 of the headlight relay in this diagram...........
