Auto Transmission Oil Color!!!!!!!

Hello I own a 97 4Runner SR5 2WD V6 3.4L Automatic. After checking the oil level on the trans. I noticed that the color of the oil is somewhat like a"graysh pink color". Althoug the oil does not smells like burnt oil. Does this means my trani is going bad? Will it hurt the trani if I get a transmission flush?

P.S I read on some other site that if your trans oil is not pink, it basically means that you could be buying a new trani very soon. Any help on this?

How many miles?

If you can still identify the "pink/red" hue you're probably ok. I like the idea of a flush. Some here don't think flushing is wise and would prefer to do 2-4 drain and fills over a short window of time. Either way, do it!:soapbox: The only time I have seen a flush cause a problem is in vehicles over 13 years old and that have in well excess of 130k with A LOT of towing or other abuse.



If the tranny works ok now and you change the fluid you should be fine. The fact it went so long means you may not see 250-300k with no issues but you should be fine. Good luck! :bigok:
