if i lived in the city with lots of stop and go id prob get a auto but ive yet to find a auto i liked most of them wont shift when u need to pass or they up shift too soon and you loose all power goin up a hill
 
I agree with Clemsonfan, since I do a lot of stop and go driving. I think that it's way easier with my style of driving and location to have an auto. But thats just my opinion.
 
I miss my auto Limited sometimes when my shifting leg gets sore, but working through the gears down coast highway with all 6 windows open is quite fun
 
I miss my manual badly... with the Automatic Impreza 2.5 2009 I got from the body shop :( I'm getting almost the same MPG as my 4R !! :|
 
Even tho I own a 4th gen my brother owns a 3rd gen 5 speed and my friend owns the exact same runner but is an auto tranny. I have driven both runners and I can tell the difference in power in my brothers 5 speed mainly cuz you can shift at higher rpms but as far as driving in city conditions i'd rather have the auto. The 5 speed would be a lot nicer off road however. I voted auto cuz i drive more city like conditions... would be awesome if the 4th gens had a 5 speed :D
 
I would say that automatics are for people that are lazy and/or easily amused

manuals are for people with ADD that have to be doing something all the time!



:bouncy: of course these are mass generalizations, please know i am joking...

... and I do have a manual... I cant stand driving an automatic cuz its sooooo boring. im always playing around with the shifter
