My dealer has a huge machine that applies some polymer coating every 6 months to your car/4runner. They use it on all of the vehicles Lexus and Toyotas when they arrive at the dealership. They then sell this package of applications to you for a 3 1/2 year period for $500 that is 6 treatments one every 6 months. I alway have done my own but I looked at vehicles that have used their treatments for several years and they look like new so this time I bought the package. It is called AutoMate, it is a specially formulated polymer paint sealant, applied with the fully automatic soft-cloth polish machine. With the package comes a warranty agains't any oxidizing, fading or loss of gloss due to the destructive effects of sun,rain, and snow. Anyone use this or had it done?

my dealer calls it the "Auto-Butler". i think it's ok......not all THAT. i've done it once already, and the car looks semi-new on the outside, but there were still some swirl marks. they claim to clean your leather and put a stain resistant coating on it, but when i got it, they didn't do much of a good job cleaning my leather. i took it home and cleaned it myself. dealers are stealers, don't buy any unnecessary extras from them. clean your car yoruself and save some money cause you;d be able to do a much better job anways.

This process does not leave any swirl marks, and all of the cars I have seen treated look like new years after, as long as they continue with the semi annual treatments. I know the interior treatment that I got on the inside of my SE was a one time treatment that is like scotch gard and is to protect the fabric, time will tell on that, at least if it gets stained I do have some recourse with the dealer. I do not use any type of brush system on my vehicles so swirl marks won't be an issue. Also my SE is silver colored, better color than black for not showing problems. I was wondering if anyone knew what this Auto-mate polymer coating was?
