Automatic windows?

I have a 2005 4Runner Sport Edition V6. I went to the dealership and asked both the parts guy and the manager at the same time about automatic up/down switches for the passenger window and rear passenger windows. The car only came with an auto up/down switch for the driver. They literally told me that its impossible and that they don't sell those parts or do that.

Yes, I asked him if it was impossible and he said, "It's impossible, its built into the switch."

I think this is nonsense...I'm no electronics expert but it doesn't make sense to me for that to be impossible. I have a GX470 that has it for every window in the car, and my 2002 4Runner (last generation) has both driver and passenger auto up/down switches. Is there a 3rd party that will do this? Also, will that void the warranty? Thanks a lot!

Third party for auto up/down. No it won't void your warranty. But those dumbass' were wrong, the switch only has that extra notch. The relay tells it when to stop.

Where can I find a 3rd party that does it? or order the part online? What do you mean by the "relay" tells it when to stop? Do I only need to change the switch or something else? If you're willing to...I would really appreciated an explanation of how all this works. Thanks a lot!!!

crimstopper makes a window roll up kit

Check out crimestopper.com in the manuals section there is a module CS5601 that does this function. A good installer that carries the crimstopper product should be able to install it for you.

How do I go about finding an installer to do this for me in my area? Also, roughly how much $ would this cost? Thanks.

Also, would there be a way to buy the part from Toyota the makes the Driver window auto up/down and reprogram the module attached to the switch so that it controls a differen window?
If no reprogramming is necessary, can you just replace the normal module for the passenger seats with the module for the driver window (auto up/down)? Wouldn't you just have to wire it into each respective circuit? Thanks guys!

Cheers,
Justin

Thanks a lot guys! It sounds kinda expensive...I didn't see any updates on the threat you gave me Jaebster. Just people hoping it worked.

Uneek, I think buying those things would be real cool, but I was hoping to have every door have its own auto up/down. My GX470 has it! I want it!!! With that product (which looks pretty damn cool) it would be $34x6 and maybe even 7 if I must replace my driver auto as well for fitting purposes. like $200+. I suppose I can just get three for all 3 other windows to be controlled by the driver...thats what I was mainly looking for. Although the safety feature doesn't seem to come with it. I'll have to look into it and see how it's worked for other people but again, thanks a lot guys!

I think the crimestopper module controls more than 1 window. I was thinking about it for the rear window up function using the key fob
