AutoMeter Guages?

OK...probably a question that's been asked at some time here, and I can't find with search...but here goes.
The wife was kind enough to buy me a full compliment of new AutoMeter guages, and in looking, the only reference to temp. and it's placement on the 3.0, is drivers side of the block. First off, without removing half of the truck on that side, I can't even see the stock sender....is there an alternate location for the thermocouple? Oil pressure sender I found (next to the oil filter), but temprature sender evades me.
Trans is going right into the pan, volt is off the alternator...anyone?

My temp sender is behind the plenum near the firewall and grouped together with a bunch of other sensors ('88 3.0L V6)

A cleaner install would be a thermostat housing from a 22rte motor. They have two bungs on them already for water temp sensor and one other sensor... I forget which. Using that would look factory.

OP: If you're interested, I have a 22RTE thermostat housing. If you want it, it's yours. Just pay for shipping.
