I didn’t take the frame off the truck! All repairs were done in place. If I was going to take the frame off, I would have bought a completely new one, instead of repairing because of how much work to remove it.

I am a welder and have used them many times repairing peoples vehicles. I am currently using them right now on a 4th gen I picked up super cheap because the frame was rotted out completely.

Apologies for such a wait, I haven’t had time to get it back on the lift, but I took some pictures this week. I bought this knowing it had rust issues but unfortunately not this bad!
The rear bumper was completely shot, I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the new OEM piece from Toyota I welded in.
This is the front rad support, I just cut the original and made my own.
This is the passenger side frame rail near the body mount, I cut the bottom of the frame out and replaced with a safetcap piece.
This is the passenger side trailing arm welded in, I cut the old one off completely and put in the safetcap piece.
This is near the fuel tank, I removed the fuel tank to put this piece on, while I had it off I installed new oem toyota brake lines that go to the center brake hoses.
This is the passenger side frame rail, from the front wheel well to the rear the frame was bad.
This is the rear near the tailpipe, welded in a piece.
This is the rear body mount, frame rail, and a small shot of the bumper newly welded in. The mount brackets are oem Toyota, I cut the old ones off and welded them in.
This is a crossmember going over the fuel tank, I took the muffler off to access it better.
I did this over two months and I definitely should have sprayer primer on the bare metal. The winter season left a good amount of surface rust on all the new frame sections before I could rustproof it.

Thank you. I was able to buy it for very cheap although it did turn out to be more work than I thought. However I was already knee deep into it to not finish it.

Not for me, I can’t imagine it’d be easy to find a clean frame in the rust belt, nor would I want to remove the body from the frame and swap, easier for me this way and it’ll be good for another 10 years at least.

I meant getting a brand new frame. all you have to do is buy the new frame, remove the old one and install the new one. i have been thinking of getting my frame replaced too but my frame is not as bad as your though. i only have a problem with my rear axle upper arm connection to the frame.
That's some pretty fantastic work.
If there's mild surface rust, RustBullet will stick to that like bear shit to a blanket. I did my hitch and rear section of the frame (the part you cut out and replaced) back in 2016 and it still looks fresh, as if I did it yesterday.
However, RustBullet doesn't do particularly well on perfect, clean metal. It can flake right off. POR15 can be far, far worse for this characteristic. A friend of mine did his landcruiser axles with POR15, and wailing on it with a hammer barely left a mark in the finish once it was dried on.... but a pressure washer can take it off in sheets if it's painted on new metal.
Hope the project is going well, that rust looked really bad.
