auxiliary fuse block

Ok.

I was going to start another thread, but I'll just post this here for now. If I get no answers, I'll start a new one.

I need to do an aux box. I need at least 10 fuses.

I've always gone with the fuse and relay combo, but there seems to be nothing out there that offers 10 of each. I did find one that offered 10 micro relays and 40 fuse, but I don't feel I need that many fuses, though I guess it can't hurt. (Edited to add going through the list in my head, 40 would be too much, but maybe a good idea.)

As I said, I've always gone by the relay and fuse, especially for lights and high wattage items. As of right now, I have 7 switches for lights, in a custom switch box, with relays and fuses. (Pics attached.)

I really want every accessory in the truck switched, so I don't really have to worry about turning them off.

My plan is to have a Master On switch, and then lights, CB, Accessory power outlets, etc on a switch as well.

I guess my main question is this:

Will I be OK with JUST fuses on the lights, or should I go relays as well?

This is the PDM I was thinking about getting. It has 10 micro relay spots, and 40 fuse spots.

But then there's this one, where I can wire it up however I want to, ie relays, fuses, relays/fuses, etc. I just don't know where to start with it.

Would be great if we could get this thread to have a lot of questions, answers, and comments on the aux fuse block subject. Maybe it will be helpful to others down the line.

Yes 60 positions would be only just enough for 10 relays(4 positions each) and 10 fuses(2 positions each). And you have to wire each power supply and ground seperately, very time intensive and a general pain. I plan on using the first option on a hotrod I'm building, but that involves an engine management system all interior functions and lighting. But I will STILL need some additional hi-amp breakers.

I used to use the 12 Fuse Blue Sea box for auxillary stuff. Then I'd build a small enclosure for the relays, mounted upside down so I could see the connections for troubleshooting or changing things. Of course it required a cover, but that was my best option at the time. 30 years of tinkering has made me lazy. I'd go for the Bussed PDM, so much easier to work. You'll have a lot of blanks, but with the cover on, no one will care.
