Does anyone in this forum have any experience with Hella 4000 Rallye, IPF 960 Super Rally, IPF 900 MSR or KC Rally 800 Lights?
Please post here your opinion on those lights. I'm looking for some auxiliary light and need to find out what is the difference between those ones. I know that Hellas can come with Pencil, Driving or Euro beam, KC is only Driving, but what about IPF? How those lights are performing?
I'd also appreciate any images.

I had the Hella 4000s on my 97 4Runner and they worked great. I had the euro beams as the pencil beams weren't need in my opinion. I also had great experiences with Hella USA which is located in Peachtree City, GA, just an hour down the road from Atlanta. I lost a couple parts and called them and they sent several for free with no questions asked.

After my first night run, the need for additional lighting was crucial. Finding the right lighting for my rig meant researching the various vendors and making the right decision on which product best fit my needs. I was able to narrow down my decisions between the Hella 4000 Rally vs the Lightforce 240 XGT. After much nail biting research, I decided that the Lightforce 240 XGT best fit my needs (pencil beam). One of the key deciding factors for me was the fact that these lights had literally no vibrations based on user reviews. Not only was it vibration free, it featured a shatterproof lense which meant that I didn't have to worry about any rocks damaging the lights! Light, strong and even bright as heck!

I'll be adding another pair of lightforce's to the family soon so it'll be even more bling :) If you want to change the beam, you can get teh 140,170 or 240 Blitz. They have the ability to change from pencil to flood. Works for me and is reasonably priced.

I'm selling my PIAA 525 set and need another set of lights in exchange. So I have the spot from PIAA to fit new ones.

Two things stopping me of taking in consideration the LightForce.
First, they are 9-3/4" in diameter. This is too big and wouldn't fit my brush guard openings.
Second, all this idea with exchangeable transparent covers which "changes" the light output. I always thought that the actual glass and reflector are actually for the beam. I remember my previous lights with glass making beam. It was pretty thick, at least 1/4". So how thin plastic can change it? I'm not talking about changing itself, I'm talking about quality of the light beam. If it is so simple way to do it, why nobody except LightForce doing it? Probably there is compromise between versatility and light beam quality. Personally, I don't the answer, so just thinking. Correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Well the 240's are pretty massive so the 170's or 140's will probably suit your needs much better. Personally the 170's are probably the best bang.

As for the lense cover, I thought it was just to change the output color but not the actual pattern. Looking at the Lightforce models, you would rotate the head to change your beam pattern and then affix any cover to change the output beam.

Can't really help you as much though as I just have clear. Doubt that I'll ever need any other color where I live so I really can't give you any insight on which color is good for what condition.

Thank you Good Times, but 170 are 6", and they will be too small for me. I need 7"-8".
Looks like I'm down to:
- Hella Rallye 4000 Euro beam
- IPF 900 XS Driving
- KC Rally 800 SS Driving
Any suggestions which ones are better? Some sort of a rating...?

Take a good look at the KCs, they have a 23 warranty against housing or reflector rust, if a switch fails, if a cover fades from the sun; they even warranty the bulbs against burnout. I don't think any other lamp is covered better then that! 100% Stainless even the black fixtures.

Hella Rallye 4000 are 8-3/4" and there is a member in this forum with those lights. He has them on black WAAG grille on silver 4Runner and they look nice there.

I don't have 580s, you do. Is it possible to rotate them at 90? As far as I know all other PIAA models wouldn't allow you it, only 180.
 
just curious, what are you guys using for a switch? I'm contemplating doing the same, but want an OEM looking way of toggling them on and off. What did you guys come up with?
