Went to Avondale Toyota on 2/7 to check out trading in my fiance's '94 4Runner SR5 for an '06 4-Runner SR5.
Avondale Toyota has something called "One price, one person."
This was the greatest buying experience we have *ever* had. The prices are marked on the vehicles. I think the sicker price on the 4Runner we selected was like $31k, there was a $1000 rebate (in lieu of 2.9% financing) so the "One price" was like $26,500 or somewhere around there.
When we pulled up to the dealership, we started walking out to the 4Runners and I could hear a salesman behind us. We just tried to act like he wasn't there, but he finally caught up to us, and introduced himself. Totally not pushy at all. Gave us room to walk around and talk.
I did the test drive on the 4Runner. My fiance didn't want to. She was so sure that she would like it that she said she didn't need to (because of the great ownership experience with her current 4Runner)
We told the salesman that we would be in touch with him in 3 weeks after we got back from vacation.
March 1st rolls around, and we decided to go down there. I called our salesperson and he didn't happen to be working that night, but would meet us down there.
We got there, found the model we liked and asked for appraisal on our trade (94 4Runner). They said they would give us $3300 for it.
I don't know if it was a good value on the 4Runner because it was beat up pretty good. The exterior was faded, and the paint was peeling, interior was stained and ripped up.
We were in and out of there in like 2 hours, maybe 2 1/2 at the most. It was the best experience either of us had ever had. Your salesperson is also your finance person. No hagle pricing.
They were very top notch!
I went back over this past weekend because I wanted to get an '06 Sequoia, but they didn't have exactly what I was looking for. I ended up going with Larry Miller Toyota, and I have posted comments regarding that experience.
