AVS Bugflector

I installed one of these on my 2008. Wondering about the rubber bumpers they ship. Based on the rigidity, wonder if they are needed? Also, instead of sticking them on the paint, why not stick them on the backside of the deflector instead of potentially pulling off paint later?

dont worry about pulling off paint, in fact after a few months of washing , i bet you ll find a couple missing

I got a deflector and i was dissappointed to know that the instructions have you mount it between the grill and between the headlights and the seal. i returned it. It sucked will not do that to my truck.

Odd you say that, I thought the method of installation (specifically the way it gets inserted between the grill and hood) was very clever and provides a very sturdy installation.

The rubber "expansion" grommets/screw that fit perfectly in holes under the hood add additional rigidity near the ends.

Mine required absolutely no dremel or any other modification of the deflector or any body part.

Do you have a gap between your hood and grille, where the deflector goes between, and do yo have a gap between a portion of the headlight seal and the hood lip over the light, how does that look good? I would be interested in some pictures. Thanks

Here are some pics. What you are asking to photograph is very hard. Where the Bugflector touches the seal of the hood, it looks very tight. At the very edge of the Bugflector, there is a tiny gap between the rubber seal of the hood and the grille. I am not concerned at all, I show this with the yellow arrow.

The Bugflector comes with rubber bumpers to prevent it from flexing and contacting the hood, but it is so stiff I cannot imagine that happening at all. I may stick the rubber bumpers on the back of the Bugflector at some intervals instead of on the truck.
