AZ folks. Is Box Canyon too difficult for stock 4runner?

I'm itchin' to get the family out and see some AZ trails, but because of my impatience, I didn't hold out for a locked runner. So basically I have a '96 with '99 talls and one size larger AT tires. Is Box Canyon out of the question for me or are there ways around the tougher obstacles?

Any other AZ scenic trails around Phoenix for a stock runner? Any reference websites to visit to learn about these trails?

Dude, if you can drive, your Runner will thrive... It won't be a problem.

you can totally do Box Canyon especially if you have 99 talls. I have a 2000 and went up and down the waterfall stock and mine sat much lower than a 99 tall equipped 4Runner.

Just make sure you air down a bit if you're going to run the waterfall obstacle. You'll have better luck especially if you don't have lockers or ATRAC. Otherwise, you should be GTG.

It appears from the map on Everytrail.com that there is a bypass around the waterfall. My brother n law will probably go in his Tundra. He sits taller than me so I assume he'll be ok. I'll see what the family is up for when the time comes I guess.
