I've been wanting to do a build thread, but my job prevents me from doing anything enjoyable on a computer anymore. I stare at it 24/7, and when I get home, I absolutely despise being on it more. However, recently I've been so excited to see the transformation of my 4Runner.

It's somewhat pic heavy.

I bought this thing March 31, 2017, and it started life as a 2017 TRD ORP. Prior to this, I knew nothing about 4Runners (still kinda don't), and I owned a Tundra.

Within 20 days, I sent it to my local shop, Tandem Offroad (back then in Fort Worth) and they put Toytec 2.5s all the way around, total chaos upper control arms, line-x'd my front and rear valences (which is why I tore my front and rear bumper off), xenondepot LED lights up front and LEDs in the cabin, and a body chop.

Tandem Offroad, Pablo Moreno, Alexander Sopapilla Brown, Brandon Cunningham, and Thomas Boyd, did all the wrenching and alignment.

That very night, I took off the Dunlop street tires and put on KO2s.

About 3 months passed and I was happy. Then I realized the addiction. Thereafter, I managed to tear off my front bumper during a trip to bridgeport here in Texas. Then I witnessed the full power of the summer glare in Texas.

I decided I'd take the next step and get a partial hood scoop wrap and also replace the front bumper with an SSO Slimline. Thanks again to Tandem, this was a quick install and relatively painless. Oh yeah, I also got a 30" lightbar for the SSO, switchpro, and Meanmother 9500 winch. Oh yeah, I also stumbled upon a great deal for a Gobi Stealth rack and some FN FX Pros.

At this point my wife was going to kill me.

So that's what happened in 1 year. Fast forward to now, and I'm now installing a new 40" lightbar up top, replacing my Gobi with an SSO aluminum rack, and... thanks to my jealous look at Lawndart's rig, I've gone with a +2 Long travel with kings and full resi's. I also replaced the entire rear links with Total Chaos rear links. Again, shout out to Tandem for the great work!

I just had the McQueen fenders out on. Also, the long travel kings and rear links have all been installed. We flexed it early Tuesday and then installed the snorkel.

Last picture, we set all decals for jamboree!

First pic and second pic don't have the fenders on. The Mcqueens were a little difficult to fit, but not too bad.

That's what I thought too! They are a bit wider but not by much. I was worried about clearance but they were well thought out. It's mostly the inner wheel well that's now cleared out, which gives me stupid amounts of room and no interference.

Update: SSO Roof Rack

As mentioned, I recently intended on going with the SSO roof rack. As suspected, the SSO Roofrack did not disappoint. The rack is 1/2 the weight of my Gobi and I've stored my tredpros, hilift, and some other knick knacks up there. It works great! Also, in my opinion, the fairing and the setback on the light bar is the best design to date!

I went originally with the gobi, but that wind noise (not whistling) was so loud it drowned out my bluetooth mic during drives. In addition, the Gobi dropped my gas mileage a bit. Even with a fairing adjust, it wasn't for me. For anyone needing a great basket rack, I think gobi is still the best for a steel rack. However, if you're looking for a lighter option with no noise (like me), this SSO is unbeatable. It was easy to assemble and the light rack assembly, again, is UNBEATABLE for noise. Also, I don't have any wind resistance when driving anymore.

I forgot to mention. I had my fenders paint matched and fixed up with Tran's Auto Body in Arlington, Texas. They did a phenomenal job!

Sooo... Got a few parts to my RCLT HD and it looks like the kits should be moving out soon. . We will have some of the guys at Tandem Offroad do video of the install and an in depth look
