Back at it - Round Two

So I used to have a 2010 5th Gen Limited back in the day. Lifted it, did wheels tires, intake, exhaust.

All around it met the families needs. Deployed and then got divorced, in which I lost that 4Runner. I was driving a 2010 370z Roadster, which was fun, quick but traveling with the dog/carrying anything larger than a medium suitcase became a problem.

About a week ago, I traded in the Z for another 4Runner. Picked up a 2011 4Runner Trail Edition. I prefer the 10-13 Trail Edition over the facelifted 4Runner.

So far I have removed the running boards and installed interior LEDs. I have a Toytec 3/2 lift along with TC UCAs scheduled to be delivered this Thursday. 285s also scheduled for this week.

Excited for the adventures to come. Time to get up north, do some camping, hiking, trail running and getting away from it all.

Tires are on. Lifting starts tomorrow and alignment Saturday.

Looking at Gobi Stealth roof racks. I have always wanted one, now to justify the price.

Pictures will follow once the lift is finished.

Sorry about losing your old one but welcome back! Also it may not be a 4runner but i really like that 370z too. Bet you must miss the speed.

Yea, definitely miss the speed but the 4Runner will keep me out of trouble for the most part. I was able to get the 4Runner I wanted this time (trail version). I'll pay off this one quickly and pick up something that can take the corners (1974 BMW 2002).

4 legged security system still working ? Gotz to have em !!!!

Oh yea. She has definitely helped me get back to normal life. 60lbs of awesomeness.

Just finished the lift. Took way longer than expected, I am blaming the KDSS. I post pictures tomorrow after the alignment.

Side Note: On the tailgate, I have a sport badge. I am unaware the 5th gens had a sport model. Any guesses?

KDSS definitely had a learning curve when I first took it apart. It's easier to manipulate the system if all four corners are at full droop.

No sport badge on my TE. Maybe be some sort of dealer thing.

If you ever come up to GA check out Atlanta 4runners on Facebook, and come wheeling with us!

So here is the result from the lift and new tires. I am pretty happy with the lift and tires. Extremely happy that I have no rubbing. During the install I had a couple of casualties, my air compressor seized and my low profile jack blew a seal.

Only real downside of the lift is the dog did not successfully execute her landing into the truck, sorta ricocheted off.

What are your lift specs? Looks awesome!

Went the route of Toytec 3" lift (5100s & toytec springs). Only issues that I ran into was one of the assembled struts was not aligned up properly, off by 15 degrees. So I had to compress the spring and adjust the assembly. Also, installed Total Chaos UCA and the alignment went smoothly

So I am in AL for the next five weeks. I am hoping to get out to do some overlanding or offroading (novice stuff). Any suggestions for the AL region?

Went up to Ocala yesterday and got to have some fun. The 4Runner did great with the deep sand in places. Didn't do anything too crazy since my recovery gear was very limited. The fun got cut short since it started to rain and i didn't want to chance it.

PopsSmith just a heads up. We're having a big meet greet and ride June 6-7 if you can get away and come north to wheel with all of us. Right not we're looking like there's gonna be pretty big group.

Is that the Banana river in the background? Cool to see someone near hometown; perhaps we can wheel/overland sometime.

That would be awesome. I'll have to wait a bit until I can confirm with work on whether or not I can be free. If you don't mind keeping me informed on the specifics, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
