Back light on top of back window shield

Hey guys,

I was wondering why when I bought my 4runner it didn't have that black shield on the back light on top of the back window. I see most 4runners with it, but i also see some 4runners without it. Is it an accessory I have to buy, if so what is it called? Thanks!!!!!!!!!

It's where you take everything unnecessary outta the truck for better MPGs.

This can and often includes:

• seats
• windshield
• skid plates
• body fluids
• radio
• AC/Heat equipment
• carpet
• all unnecessary plastics like door panels
• roof rack
• roof
• doors
• windows
• catalytic converter
• spare tire and jacks.
• and so on...

You get the idea.

Oh, and by the way, that black piece is called the "rear spoiler". Should be pretty easy to find one and put it back on - look in a junkyard. and repaint it!

Some lower trim packages came without it, I've seen threads about it. Apparently retrofitting one to a model not made with it is not a trivial exercise.

i think the technical term Toyota calls is 'rear wind deflector' -I just got one off ebay for $40 shipped to Hawaii.

That's exactly what it's called. It was actually an option. Most of them came with them. I think they look much better with them on the truck. I take mine off occasionally and spray paint it because they tend to fade.

paint headlights airbags seatbelts doors breaks everything like that




doi you have a roof rack..... think if there removed on runners with roof racks they will make wind noise

but its really not a NEEDED part
