Back seat heater

My 93 toy has a back seat heater, it never gets used and takes up a lot of space in my central console, its about 2 inches deep, has anyone removed the heater and if so what did you replace the console with.

I pulled the console/ heater out of my 84 to make room for the 2nd t-case shifter.
A small cooler squeezes in the remaining space.

There should be a factory console available with a larger storage case from 4runners that came without rear heat.

I'm looking to do the same with my 87 4Runner. I've gone so far as to remove the heater tubes going to and from the rear unit. I haven't decided what center console I want so the rear heater and shallow console are still in place. I kept the heater tubes just in case I ever want to put it back in.

I'm making one out of wood and black ABS plastic, and I'm adding cupholders.

Just like that. I wonder how it will match up with the consol, I need to go out and look.
