Back up beeeep...

So I'm not well versed in electrical wiring, at all, and have a question for someone that could help.

'08 Limited with backup sensors, momentary button to kill the beep. With anything in my hitch it's intermittent or constant beeps... Can I swap the momentary to a toggle switch and only have the beep when I choose to so it is on or off? I'm not sure how the wiring works or if it can be done.

I have rear camera so the beeps are not necessary... The button came off the momentary switch so I have to stick a key or pen in the hole to use it currently so I will be replacing the switch anyway, just wondering if it has to be momentary or could work as a toggle on/off?

Does that make sense?

Thanks

If the momentary switch works opening the circuit a non momentary switch should work.
But since you're replacing the switch anyway, just do it.
