With some help from Brian (waskillywabbit),
I was thinking about this mod.
http://www.eurekaboy.com/f250/backuplights.htm

It looks like there is a hook/bracket on the edge of the bumper.

What do you guys think it will look like?

Hey Momo,

First I want to get the skid plate.:headslap:
but you care to photochop a design for the lights?
I am going to mess with photoshop tomorrow.

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow. I have to take my mother to Healthsouth at 5 am for knee replacement, so I will be sitting around the hospital for a couple of days. I am not sure if I will have internet access, but I will be coming back to the house every once in a while to shower up, I can post then. I also need to check out the underside to see how we can rig it up.

For some reason I can't see the last two pics. I was thinking it would be cool if we could get them a little more up under the bumper, maybe even more up under the body itself, so they aren't as noticeable. Let me mess around with it some after I check for some mounting points.

On another note, I have been debating on mounting a pair of Hella 500 lights on the front bumper, but noton the top. If you look behind the front bumper there is a beam that I could mount two brackets that would stick through the bumper, then mount the lights to them. Really they would be in front of the front bumper. I just haven't had the time to mess with it. You would think owning my own company I could take vacation whenever I want......I wish.

Except that vacation = no income since there is no one working...... :)

By the way, the pictures work for me.

i bought some backuplights a while back that go on the trailer hitch. i think i'll mount them afterall. my dark tint doesn't let me see anything in the rear at night.

I think it would be a good idea to mount it so it's not the first thing that hits when u back up, or make it the first thing since they are cheaper then a bumper :D

I photochopped two more positions what you think?:artist:

The ones mountedright next to thte trailor hitch look the best. it might just be the hard edge rectangular shape of those lights that is botheringme, but that could easily be taken care of with a trip to AutoZone. They don't have to be anything special since they are reverse lights. I would probably just put a litt silicone around the lense to keep moisture out.

I think I am going to go with:

If I put them next to the trailer hitch I will have problem putting the hitch bolt in. The place where I want to put them also interfers with the brake light plug. I will just have to unscrew the left light when I want to use a trailer.

.

anyone thought of modifiying those red bumper lenses to white lights for back up?? i dont know much about this stuff, but if possible it would be a great mod - seems to make more sense than another set of brake lights since there are 3 already (tail lights and rear deflector).

Comment on backup light positions... I like the one where they're lined up under the edges of the silver bumper trim...Gives a little more margin for error when hooking up a trailer. The problem with having them close to hitch? Too much of a chance of missing alignment when backing... The result:

no1 answered my question...is it possible to convert the red bumper lenses to white reverse lights?

Those look really good. How long did it take you to wire them up?

Are you coming to the World of wheels next weekend?

World of wheels.......
Where/what is that?

Brian (waskillywabbit) installed them for me and I watched
and helped out a little bit. I say it is like a 3-5 hour job.
They really shine at night.

It is the big custom car show at the BJCC. They have all kinds of custom cars, trucks and mototrcycles. It is pretty cool. Depending on when we take my mother back to Mississippi, i am supposed to be working downt there in the Talladega booth.
