Back up lights...

I bought them at Kragen auto parts store. Damn I forgot how much I paid for them. I want to say probably $8 per bulb.

Can I just buy the 100watt bulb and replace the 55 watt bulbs with them or do i have to change all the wires and the fuse?

That thread that I created will tell you everything that I did. I ran 12g wires to them knowing that I was going to use 100watt bulbs. The bulbs come with a pig tail that you'll have to splice into the wires where they will be getting power from.

I just ran the wires to the lights inside the truck, I put the floor mat over them and then under the rear cargo mat, there's a small hall in the back that goes to the inside and I put the wires through there. Pretty easy.

If you were driving at night and some jackass was right behind you riding your ass with his brights on and you had back up lights, would you turn them on? Would you just flash them? Would you feel guilty doing it? Or does it just seem like a really bad idea?

If I knew the person behind me I would turn on the lights. Other than that, around here that kind of crap will get you shot at and or they will ram you and spin you out. In my younger years yes I would've done everything imaginable to get them to stop or piss them off. If I'm on a fast road and someone is tailgating I try to drive a little on the shoulder. That usually will kick up enough rocks and debris that they will back off on their own.

The combination of my factory tinted back window and my auto-dimming rear view mirror would make me not even notice someone riding behind me with his brights on. Even if I noticed, it wouldn't bother me a bit.

its when your riding someones bumper, and they "tap" the brakes. How he got caught, it was done during the day, and other people driving seen it, called CSP and reported it.

If you cause someone to wreck/crash, and as you said "drive away" thats leaving the scene, another charge.

This makes no sense at all. There's no way to prove that the driver in the front vehicle didn't hit his brakes (even momentarily) for a legitimate reason. There's no way a driver can be held responsible for someone behind him crashing because he tapped his brake pedal. The guy behind him is responsible for maintaining a safe following distance that will allow him time to slow down in enough time to avoid an accident.

Even if I'm driving behind someone and the person in front me of slams on his brakes, it's my own fault if I crash into him or something else trying to avoid him. There's no way in hell that he'd be at fault if I crash into him or something/someone else.

Ric,

Do you have a link to the news story of the driver in Denver tapped his brakes and ended up getting put in jail because a car behind him crashed and caused people to die? If this happened last year, there must be news stories on it. I'd love to read the details of this event! I searched for the story, but couldn't find anything on it at all.
