I just noticed that the back window wiper is not working. Has anyone had this issue? I have a 2003 4Runner, it has worked in the past but nothing now. Thanks

Is your rear window all the way up?

If you recently opened it you may not have closed it all the way or tapped the switch and brought it down a hair. In that case the rear wiper will not work.

Did you unplug the battery recently? If you did, you may have to reset the auto feature on your back window. If you don't do this, the sensor does not realize that the window is closed and the rear wiper will not work.

Little different issue

Along the lines of the rear wiper but a little different issue...if you turn on the rear washer should the wiper go automatically like it would on the front wipers? I used mine the other day and I had to spray and then turn on the wiper to clean it off. Hopefully it was a one time glitch.

No, but there are two spray options. You could turn the switch down (only sprays) or up while the wiper is on.

Good info. In my case, yes, my battery went dead after a week long vacation left my 4Runner in the garage. Okay, so how do you reset the rear window sensor? And, is there anything else that needs to be reset after disconecting/dead battery besides the clock and radio presets?
