Backfire Causes? Thumping intake sound

Did you make sure you're getting correct voltage at the harness to that injector? If it Ohmed out okay I would verify that. I imagine the injector is gunked up or just tired and worth replacing but if you've gone this far might as well make sure you're not dealing with anything further up the pike electrically.

Well Matt I guess just keep us abreast of how it all turns out. I myself need a valve adjustment, for #4 has become a little noisy (loose I think).

Get the correct clearance on the valves and a new injector and it sounds as if you should be good to go.

I sure will. I agree with you, or if not smooth sailing, one step closer.
